I am a practicing attorney in the State of Alaska, where I was born and grew up. I’m part of four generations who have lived in Alaska: my grandparents, my parents, my husband, myself, and our son.

I graduated from West Anchorage High School where my parents attended, and where my son proudly graduated in 2021 (my husband went to East Anchorage High School). The land and the folklore of Alaska have always felt magical to me, and I began thinking of the story that I would eventually write while I was still a teenager.

I love writing and reading — I can’t resist a good book and enjoy a variety of genres from historical romance to gothic fiction to fantasy. I especially love all things YA, particularly YA romantasy.

I love nature and spend a bit of each day outside hiking and walking with my dogs. I now split my time between Alaska and California where we also have family.

The story I wrote originates from my own life, heavily influenced by my childhood experiences growing up in Alaska.

When I was young, my father abandoned my mother and me. I suffered panic attacks and anxiety from the loss. I didn’t see or speak to my father or his side of the family again until I was in college and learned that he was living in San Diego. When I visited him, I couldn’t imagine a place more different from Alaska. The seeds of a story took root.

After my son was born prematurely with health issues, I had a lot of time on my hands during the long, dark winter nights keeping vigil over him. And I began to write. The writing was a distraction – an escape – from the dark places in my mind, and a way for me to cope with my anxiety.

I wrote a story about a girl from San Diego who comes to Alaska after the tragic loss of family in an accident. She suffers panic attacks from the trauma and comes to live with the only two family members she believes she has left, and they are both supernatural witches. But she doesn’t know that. She has been kept ignorant of the supernatural world for her protection. She will turn out to be something different. Something special. Something that hasn’t been seen in their world for a very long time. She will ultimately turn out to be the descendant of a twin goddess (I lived with my grandmother and mom, and my grandmother was a twin) with a special purpose to restore balance in the world of warring supernatural creatures...

I wrote of fantasy, magic, yearning, love, and great power.
